What backing is

Backing a founder is patronage. You get insider access, a voice, and recognition — not equity, interest, revenue share, or financial returns of any kind. If the founder succeeds, you helped; you do not own a piece of it.

Backing is a recurring payment to a specific founder. It is not a loan, a purchase of securities, a crowdfunding investment, or a contract for any future benefit beyond the access described on that founder's page.

Who takes your money

During the pilot, each founder collects pledges directly through their own payment account. Thesis does not hold, route, or custody your money at any point. The 15% platform share shown in every split is what running this site would cost — during the pilot there is no mechanism to collect it and none is invoiced, so that share stays with the founder along with the rest. A split you can read is not the same as money we have taken, and we would rather you knew which of the two this is.

This means your statement will show the founder's payment descriptor, not ours, and any refund is handled by the founder under their own terms.

Billing and cancellation

Recurring monthly until you cancel, charged on the day you start and on that date each month. Accounts are not open yet, so cancelling means replying to the founder's receipt — the money is taken by their payment provider, not by us. If they stop answering, your bank can revoke the mandate or reverse a charge without their agreement. The month in progress is not refunded.

Cancelling ends your access at the end of the period you have paid for. Receipts remain available. Cancelling resets your loyalty streak, but never affects money already spent on an experiment.

Where the money goes

Every payment is split using the founder's published split, applied to what is left after VAT and payment processing. At least 25% always goes to the pot that pays for experiments.

Unspent growth-pool money rolls forward into the next cycle. It never converts to founder income and it is not returned to supporters.

Experiments and results

Results are attributed under a methodology agreed before the money is spent. We describe attribution, never causation. Results may be challenged for fourteen days by parties with standing.

If a founder changes a variable that the thesis froze, the scorecard is void. The spend still stands.

Voting and influence

Supporter votes on thesis shortlists are advisory. The founder decides which experiment runs. No contribution at any size buys control.

The Founder's Circle waitlist

The Founder's Circle is a waitlist only. It has no price, cannot be purchased, and confers no option, promise, priority, or queue position. If regulated ownership ever becomes possible it would be arranged under separate, licensed terms — nothing on this platform grants it today.
